Hello World!

I'm almost 100% sure that no one is reading this.  (At least not yet anyway.)  But I signed-up for this blog, and dammit I'm going to use it!


Introductions.  I'm Rachel.  I'll be 30 on my next birthday, and I'm still not sure how I feel about that - I'll get back to you.  I have a job that I love (most of the time), one that I feel really makes a difference and will continue to make a difference long after I'm gone.  My family is both small and huge.  My nuclear family is my mom, my boyfriend, my two best friends (who are sisters), and my two cats.  My extended family is still in Michigan and I think we number 40+ at last count.  And there is only person out of that 40+ that no one can get along with which is not too shabby.  If I do say so myself.  I am a decent artist (sketching, photography, oil paint), an avid reader, an iPhile, and lazy.


And I'm funny.


Funny has been a big part of my life and my identity.  For me, funny is more than a trait.  It has been a weapon, armor, bait, a tool, and a commodity.  But that's only using the humorous definition - "funny haha."  If we're talking "funny strange," it still applies.


Hence the title of my blog page.
